Smoking fire safety - Put it Out, Right Out

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) is encouraging smokers to put out their cigarettes properly as part of its ‘Fire Kills’ campaign.

Fires caused by smoking kill more people than any other type of fire, but there are simple steps that smokers can take to reduce the chances of smoking leading to a fire.

These steps include not smoking while tired, using a proper and secure ashtray and stubbing out cigarettes properly.

You can learn more about smoking fire safety on the RBFRS website.
