Art Club continues to flourish
Having started in May 2010 with just 4 members it has grown to a healthy 12 members who are all ardent painters. We have also aquired the services of a qualified tutor who will teach us acrylics from 7th February 2011 for the following 12 weeks after which we will progress to Oils, pastels and Drawing & Sketching. It will be up to each member to chose which medium they work best in and continue in that field. We have just completed an exercise where the members painted pictures for inclusion on the front cover of the February 2011 edition of the local newsletter.The winning picture was painted by a member who had not painted in watercolours until she came to our club in May 2010. All of the paintings were judged by the Directors of the Community Association but they did not know who had painted what until the choice was made. We will be exhibiting at the Maidenhead artists fair in Maidenhead on 7th May 2011 so put it in your diary. Bill Collier | |||||||
