Council tax 2025/26
We will be sending out annual council tax bills towards the end of next week. If your bill hasn’t arrived by Wednesday 25 March, do let us know.
Please note that if your first instalment is normally due on the first of the month, for April only this instalment will be due on 10 April. All other months will be due on the first of the month as usual and are shown on your bill.
The easiest way to pay your bill is to set up a Direct Debit, giving you the choice between two monthly payment dates and ensuring you never miss a payment. If you already pay by Direct Debit, you won’t need to do anything – we will arrange for your payment to be collected on 10 April. Direct Debits normally due on the 15th of each month will be unaffected.

School places for secondary, middle or upper school
Offers for school places have been made for children starting secondary, middle or upper school this September. If you've applied for a school place for your child, you will need to respond to let us know if you wish to accept or decline the offer by Saturday 15 March 2025.
If you applied online using our online portal, you will be able to log into your account to accept or decline your offer and receive an email confirming the outcome of your application. You can also email your response to our admissions team, including your child's full name and date of birth.
If you applied on paper or using our Google online form, you should now have received a letter providing information about the outcome and how to respond.

You're invited to get involved at our leisure centres at six locations across the Royal Borough as they host an amazing array of activities including family pool parties and themed discos, exhilarating fitness events, and a host of engaging kids’ activities - as well as a thrilling Comic Con event. There will also be an opportunity to boost your wellness with their walk-in health checks and free life-saving CPR sessions.
All money raised over the weekend will go towards their Active Communities programme, which gets people into sport.

Climate Partnership launches Big Climate Pot
The Climate Partnership is excited to announce the launch of the Big Climate Pot, that will support innovative projects that contribute to sustainability and climate action within the Royal Borough.
The Partnership, that is funded by the council and governed by local businesses and community groups, is now seeking dynamic proposals that align with our their vision of fostering environmental resilience and community well-being, supporting our Environment and Climate Change Strategy.
Community groups, educational institutions and business in the borough are encouraged to apply by 30 May 2025.

As part of our offer of free adult courses for anyone over 19 who is looking to boost their confidence with numbers and digital skills in their every day life, The Rebel Business School for adults is looking for anyone wanting to start their own business and want to learn more about sales and marketing, setting up a website and finding customers.
Funded by the government's Multiply scheme, the course will run online from 10am to 2pm from 17-21 March 2025.

Local charity Men's Matters will be hosting a free health and wellbeing show aimed at older men at Maidenhead Library from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Wednesday 19 March.
The show will feature a wide range exhibitors sharing their products, advice and services to promote health and wellbeing, tackle isolation and link individuals to local support.
The event supported by The Mayor Simon Bond will also be attended by Cllr Jack Douglas, Royal Borough Cabinet Member for Communities and Leisure and Cllr Helen Price, Champion for Corporate Social Responsibility as part of our commitment to helping people live healthy and independent lives in supportive communities.

- There M4 will be closed for resurfacing works between junctions six and seven from 15 to 17 March. A diversion will be in place at junction 6 westbound, rejoining the M4 at junction seven.
- Fencing and earthworks will take place at Holmanleaze, St Mary’s from Monday 17 March to Friday 28 March.
- There will be a footway closure for special investigations of the Maidenhead Flyover on Maidenhead Road (Clewer East / Eton and Castle) from Monday 10 March to Wednesday 2 April.
- Work to upgrade the roundabout at the junction of Holyport road/A308 Windsor Road is continuing with three-way traffic lights in place until the end of July. The project is based on your feedback and is funded by Local Enterprise Partnership and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
