Secure your child's place at primary and junior school 2025


Calling all parents! If your child is starting primary or junior school in September 2025, you can now respond to your school offer to secure your child’s place. The deadline to respond is Saturday 3 May.


If you applied online using the portal, you can log in to respond to your offers. If you applied using Google Forms or a paper form, you will receive your outcome letter through email or post with more information.

Get your tickets to the Royal Windsor Horse Show 2025


This year's Royal Windsor Horse Show is fast approaching - taking place from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 May at Windsor Castle.


Residents can get tickets now with a 20% discount for the Thursday and Friday by using the code MYRBRWHS at checkout.


Alongside the top-class equestrian competition in jumping, driving and endurance, visitors can enjoy plenty of other entertainment and more than 170 shops to browse.

The film industry lands in Windsor


Screen Berkshire is hosting a Lights! Camera! Business! event on Tuesday 29 April at Windsor College. The event, held in partnership with the Royal Borough and Slough Borough Council, will have panel talks and networking opportunities with film and TV professionals.


Perfect for students, local businesses and other creatives, the day will be a chance to see what happens behind the screen, and how to get involved yourselves.

Enhanced bus services


Enhanced local bus services have started as part of our new contracts awarded to Carousel Buses and Thames Valley Buses


Updates to the 13 routes that we support will improve the connections between our communities and boost access to health and leisure, schools, businesses and retail across the borough, following your feedback - encouraging more people to take the bus as part of a healthier lifestyle that protects the environment.

PCSO drop-in surgeries


Our libraries regularly host drop-in surgeries where you can speak to the Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to receive the latest crime prevention advice and ask questions about policing.


Surgeries taking place in April are:

Sunningdale Library from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday 26 April

No change to bin collections


We collect household waste and recycling on bank holiday dates (excluding Christmas and New Year).

 

If your bin is due to be collected on Good Friday or Easter Monday, please put it at the kerbside by 7am on the day, as usual. For more information about what can go in each bin, visit our waste webpage

  • Volunteers wanted for Maidenhead's Big Read. For the last six years we have gathered authors, illustrators and storytellers to help foster a love of reading. This year we reached 5,000 children at 25 local schools and attracted 3,000 people to our library "happening". Come and join our team. If interested please email

  • Work to upgrade the roundabout at the junction of Holyport road/A308 Windsor Road is continuing with three-way traffic lights in place until the end of July. The project is based on your feedback and is funded by Local Enterprise Partnership and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
