State visit in Windsor!

The Royal Borough welcomed the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier this week, accompanied by Frau Elke Büdenbender. The visit is the first by a German head of state in 27 years.

Residents enjoyed a traditional military procession with a band and representatives from the Royal Air Forces, the Royal Marines and the Royal Navy. Onlookers were also able to see the King and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in a ceremonial carriage before a banquet at Windsor Castle later that day.

A gift for care leavers

We've partnered with a local charity to gift care leavers quilts as part of continued work to support and uplift young people as they transition out of care.

At an event held in the council chambers last week, local care leavers were invited to view the handmade articles and select their own to take home. The charity, Quilts For Care Leavers, was recommended to councillors by a resident who is involved in creating the quilts.
