Foster Care Fortnight 2026

Foster Care Fortnight (11-24 May) is a national campaign to raise awareness around fostering and the highlights and challenges of it. Over the fortnight, we’ll be spotlighting people’s lived experience in line with this year’s theme ‘This Is Fostering’.

Considering fostering? You could receive a generous package of financial, practical and emotional support from the council including reimbursement of council tax. Other benefits include a competitive fostering fee, the London fostering children allowance rate and individualised one-to-one and group support.

Windsor Community Poppy Project

Residents and community groups are invited to join a newly launched large-scale remembrance project in Windsor. Organised by Craft Coop, the project aims to create a powerful, highly visible act of collective remembrance across Windsor, starting with the Parish Church with thousands of handmade poppies made by the communities across the town.

Through knitting, crochet, textile art and recycled materials, residents of all ages and backgrounds will be invited to contribute to a shared memorial that reflects Windsor’s strong historic and ongoing connections to the Armed Forces.
