Not long ago, and familiar to local residents, SEW installed a large water pipe of 1.2 m diameter from Monkey Island to Braknell. The route of this pipe was down the East side of Fifield Road, then crossing under the road at the field entrance almost opposite Longlea Nursing Home.

The image on the left shows the relationship of the pipeline route and the amended plans for the Phoenix Gym. The scales have been synchronised as well as possible by using the shapes of buildings and Fifield Road shown on both sets of drawings.
There is an unanswered question as to whether SEW have been informed of this plan and if so what their rersponse has been.
