	FUN DAY 2021 REVIEW Sunday 8 August 2021

Once again, the weather presented its challenges. Torrential rain on the Saturday and Sunday morning made the set-up a difficult and soggy affair but, thank Goodness, as we prepared to open our doors to the public the clouds cleared and we enjoyed a warm and pleasant afternoon. And over 1,000 people joined us for a Fun Day out. Regular visitors will have noticed that we changed our site plan this year. Due to potential Covid restrictions we moved the bar and catering area to the far field and the old catering area was turned into a fairground with bungee jumps, swingboats and kiddie bumper cars. However, many of our old favourites were still with us, the ever popular dog show, Ferret racing, Punch & Judy, Mr Muddle, Anna Nightingale, the Reptiles, some lovely games and trade stalls and, of course, our wonderful Steam Train. There really was something for everyone and, according to the feedback we received, everyone really enjoyed the day. Having cancelled the Fun Day in 2020 we were determined that, this year, would be really special and I think we achieved that. Money and bills are still coming in so we do not, yet, have a final total but as soon as we do, we will publish the amounts, but it is safe to say that our lovely visitors were incredibly generous and we look forward to being able to present some nice large cheques to our charities.
