The last Planning Permissions for the Site were granted to the then Owner (Neville Hendricks) in early 2011 and have expired. This was for Renovation of the Main House which is Grade II Listed and Conversion back from Offices to one large Dwelling. It also included the building of 7 new Houses and a new Media Centre after removal of all the outbuildings, Studios and large concrete yard.
Farmglade acquired the Site in August 2014, after 12 months of negotiations. Representatives from Local Residents Associations, Parish Councillors and Neighbours were invited to attend a Consultation Event in Down Place on Thursday October 9. The Chairman attended for OGAFCA. There was a detailed Tour of the Site and Listed Building followed by a presentation from Farmglade and a few Architects/ Consultants etc.
Bottom line – they want to make a new Application – this time to restore the Main House (which is in an ever deteriorating condition), but convert it into 8 to 10 Flats. And they want to build another 16 Houses (instead of the 7 plus Media Centre previously Approved) and again take down all the old Studio Buildings and remove the concrete yard. The Site would be connected up to and accessed by the same Drive as the recently Approved Water Oakley Site of 44 Houses (immediately to the West) – and not the Drive/Entrance which it is currently connected to. Comments were invited on the day and afterwards. They still have a lot of work to do before making an Application. OGAFCA will wait until we see the Planning Application and consult with Residents before making any formal representations.
