There has been a new development regarding the bus stop in Oakley Green Road.
The RBWM engineer who came to view the current site in preparation for the next phase of work has condemned the site as being unsuitable and potentially dangerous since double white lines exist down the centre of the road and bus stops should not be placed where there are double white lines.
As a result, the council has had to look again at the land it owns and a new site has been found fronting the road outside the house Braywood Lodge.
This is the position residents favoured from the start and, crucially, is a distance away from the bend in the road. It is also close to the bus stop on the opposite side of the road.
The new bus stop area will have new features including the first in the Borough of a new bus stop design and a disabled/wheelchair ramp. When the bus stop is completed I will expand on the new features and put a report on the website.
Work on building the new bus stop should start in January.
