Holyport Free School Development

It will not have escaped anyone's attention that there is a huge development at the end of Forest Green Road, which is due to open in September 2014. Holyport Free School will be a new purpose built school, on the site of the previous Holyport Manor school, between Windsor and Maidenhead. The school will provide education for pupils aged 11-19 years. It is to be an all-ability state funded school, independent of the local authority.

The first students will enter the school in September 2014 with a year-on-year build up in numbers. Each year there will be 80 new places: 40 places in Year 7 and 40 in Year 9. The Sixth Form will provide places for 90 students in each year . The school will be at full capacity in 2020 when there will be a total of 500 pupils. What no-one seems to have considered is the impact on our already congested traffic at peak hours and the number of cars which will be travelling at speeds of up to 50 mph on both roads approaching the school.

Please let us know if you would like us to resurrect our efforts to have the speed limit on Forest Green Road reduced to 40 mph!
